01 Ramadhaan


1 Ramadhaan - The French army reached Al-Mansoorah (in Egypt) after conquering Dumyat - 647 A.H.

- The death of Avicenna (Ibn Seena), the Muslim physician and philosopher who was the first to write on
medicine in the Islamic World - 428 A.H.


- Al-Qarawiyyeen Mosque was built in Fes (Morocco) - 245 A.H.


02 Ramadhaan


- The Battle of Marj As-Suffar, near Damascus, in which the Muslim Mamlouks defeated the Mongols - 702 A.H.

- Birth of Ibn Khaldoun, the great historian and pioneer of modern sociology - 732 A.H.

- The Battle of Bilaat Ash-Shuhadaa' in which the French defeated the Muslims and killed their leader Abdur-Rahmaan
Al-Ghaafiqi -114 A.H.

3 Ramadhaan - Death of Faatimah, daughter of Muhammad salla ALLAHU `alayhi wa sallam - 11 A.H.

- Death of Marwaan Ibn Al-Hakam by poison at the hand of his wife - 56 A.H.

4 Ramadhaan - Death of Al-Jabarti, the great historian who was coeval with the French conquest of Egypt and recorded that period - 1238 A.H.

- Death of Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali, a well-known scholar of Fiqh, Hadeeth and Tafseer. He was a student of Ibn Al-Qayyim - 795 A.H.

5 Ramadhaan - The Muslim leader Ath-Thaahir Baybars freed Antakya from the Byzantines -666 A.H.

6 Ramadhaan Death of Hammaad Ibn Zayd , the great Muslim scholar of Hadeeth.

7 Ramadhaan - Al-Azhar Mosque was completed and opened - 361 A.H.

8 Ramadhaan - Death of Tighrilbek, the first king of the Seljuk (Turkish) dynasty. He defeated the Byzantines in several

- Sultan Alb Arsalaan became a ruler of the Seljuk State. He bitterly defeated the Byzantines and made the state reach its
apex of development - 455 A.H.



09 Ramadhaan

9 Ramadhaan -The Muslim leader, Noorid-Deen Mahmoud, achieved a decisive victory over the Crusaders in the battle of Haarim - 599 A.H.


10 Ramadhaan


10 Ramadhaan - The French conquered Dumyat during the Ayyubid ruling - 615 A.H.

- Death of the Mother of the Believers, Khadeejah may Allaah be pleased with her - 3 years before Hijrah

11 Ramadhaan - Death of Jingez Khan, the founder of the Mongol State which invaded a large area of the world - 624 A.H.

12 Ramadhaan - Death of Ibn Al-Jawzi, the great scholar who was known for his prowess in oratory, Fiqh, Hadeeth, history
and literature. His compositions amounted to 300, tackling different fields of knowledge
and art - 597 A.H.



13 Ramadhaan

13 Ramadhaan - Death of Muhammad Ali Pasha, who founded a strong State in Egypt after the withdrawal of the French
army.Under his rule, the state expanded to include Hejaz and Levant - 1265 A.H.

The Battle of Zallaaqah took place, in which the Muslim army defeated the army of Alfonso XVI. This war was of a great significance in the Islamic history of Andalusia -479 A.H.


14 Ramadhaan


14 Ramadhaan - Sultan Toman Bay seized power. He was later on hanged to death by the Ottomans, an event which marked the end of the Mamlouk's rule and the beginning of the Ottoman rule - 922 A.H.

- Death of Al-Mu'tasim Ibn Haaroon Ar-Rasheed, the Abbasid caliph - 227 A.H.


19 Ramadhaan


19 Ramadhaan - Death of 'Ali Ibn Abdullaah Ibn 'Abbaas may Allaah be pleased with them - 40 A.H.

- Sultan Barqooq became the ruler of Egypt - 784 A.H.

21 Ramadhaan - Death of Ibn Maajah, a great scholar of Hadeeth known for his "Sunan", a collection of 4000 Hadeeth - 237 A.H.

- Death of 'Uthmaan, the founder of the Ottoman State, who was succeeded by Sultan Orkhaan as a ruler - 726 A.H.

- Khayrud-Deen Barabasosa was appointed the Admiral of the Ottoman Marine Forces - 941 A.H.


22 Ramadhaan



22 Ramadhaan - Birth of 'Abdur-Rahmaan An-Naasir, the eighth of the Umayyad Princes in Andalusia whose rule was marked
as one of the golden eras in Andalusia - 277 A.H.



23 Ramadhaan

- The Muslims defeated the Persians and killed Yazdajird III, the last of the Sassanid kings, thus ending their rule in Persia - 31 A.H.

- Death of Abu Al-Hasan An-Nadwi, one of the most prominent scholars of India. He wrote many books and studies on the
Islamic Ideology - 1420 A.H.



24 Ramadhaan

24 Ramadhaan - Khaalid Ibn Al-Waleed destroyed the idol of Al-'Uzza by order of the Prophet salla ALLAHU alayhi wa sallam. This idol was the biggest one worshipped by Arabs in the pre-Islamic period - 8 A.H.

- The Mosque of 'Amr Ibn Al-'Aas was constructed. It was the first mosque built in Egypt after it was conquered by 'Umar Ibn Al-Khattaab may Allaah be pleased with him - 20 A.H.


25 Ramadhaan

25 Ramadhaan - Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal was released after he was jailed because of his standpoint regarding the allegation of the "Quran being created"

- Muslims defeated the Mongols in the Battle of 'Ayn Jaaloot - 658 A.H.

- The Ottomans conquered Belgrade - 927 A.H.


26 Ramadhaan


26 Ramadhaan - Death of Ibn Khaldoun, the prominent historian and the founder of modern sociology - 808 A.H.


27 Ramadhaan

27 Ramadhaan - Assassination of Abu At-Tayyib Al-Mutanabbi, one of the most prominent poets in the Arabic literature - 354 A.H.

- Birth of Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Saalih Al-'Uthaymeen - 1347 A.H.

- Death of Al-Bukhaari (on the night of 'Eed Al-Fitr) - 256 A.H.

- Birth of Ibn Hazm, one of the most prominent scholars of Andalusia. He was one of the most prolific Islamic scholars in terms of
composition and classification. He wrote around 400 volume in Fiqh, Hadeeth, Islamic fundamentals, literature, rhetoric and even medicine - 384 A.H.
